Humanity!

Humanity is a generous behavior. We all understand the literal meaning of this word. It is far beyond greed, envy, jealousy, and cruelty. Human nature is to help others, to improve, and to be selfless. Humanity is one of the fundamental values that are required to progress in life for the development of the human race and civilization.

Right from childhood, we have been taught about the values, and one of them is Humanity.  There is a saying in Hindu holy book -Bhagavad Gita, Chapter II, Verse 47.  Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana, Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani. The meaning is verse is to do your duty without expecting the fruits either in this life or afterlife. I want to relate the above verse to Humanity. It is a vast subject.

So let's discuss charity and Humanity. Is charity the same as to Humanity?

No! Charity is helping others monetarily or by giving material things. At the same time, Humanity is assisting others to emotionally or physically.

A lot of people get confused and mistake themselves by calling their actions as Humanity for doing charity.

The best example of Humanity is Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa has done an excellent service for the poor and needy. All, rich and poor, loved her. She fought for the equality of all, respect for the poor and needy. The whole world respected her as Angel Of Mercy.

On the other hand, the example of charity is any NGO or any an organization that works for eradicating hunger, poverty, illiteracy, disease, child labor, etc.

At last, I would like to end by saying Humanity is a vital subject that teaches the lessons of life and guides us to be better than yesterday. Humanity is not asking for the benefits, but it is is a primary education that everyone should have.
